On March 11, implementing the direction of the Director of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), the railway traffic police force coordinated with local police to strengthen inspection and handle violations at intersections between roads and railways.
Accordingly, during the day, 159 violations were detected and handled, including 15 cases of cars, 144 cases of motorbikes; of which 5 cases were handled through images (remote fines). The total fine amount is 113.9 million VND.
The main violations include crossing the level crossing when the red light has been turned on but the barrier has not been lowered; crossing the level crossing when the barrier is lowered or has been completely lowered; stopping the vehicle within railway safety boundary.

According to the Traffic Police Department, some localities with many cases being handled include Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Lao Cai.
The Traffic Police Department emphasized that inspections show that there is still a situation where traffic participants intentionally cross the level crossing when the red light is on or when the barrier has been lowered, posing a potential risk of serious railway traffic accidents.
In the coming time, the traffic police force will continue to strengthen recording and strictly handle violations to ensure railway traffic order and safety.
The Traffic Police Department also encourages people to record and report violations via Zalo of the Director of the Traffic Police Department or the Facebook page of the Traffic Police Department for timely handling.
Functional agencies recommend that people when crossing level crossings should strictly comply with traffic lights, bells and barriers, absolutely do not overtake when there is a no-entry signal to ensure safety for themselves and the community.
