On the afternoon of December 31, in order to prevent the re-emergence of "nail bandits" causing traffic insecurity, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2025, Phu Lam Traffic Police Team, PC08 Department coordinated with a resident, Mr. Dinh Minh Canh (31 years old, residing in Binh Chanh) to carry out nail removal work on National Highway 1A, through Binh Tan District.

After more than 1 hour of moving the nail suction truck on National Highway 1A, from An Lac intersection (Binh Tan District) to Vinh Loc Industrial Park intersection, the traffic police and local people collected many sharp diamond-shaped pieces of metal, which were dangerous to road users. All of these pieces of metal were then taken away for disposal.

According to the representative of the Phu Lam Traffic Police Team, previously, on National Highway 1A, the section passing through Binh Tan District, nail scattering was a constant problem, causing danger to road users. However, with the propaganda and mobilization of the people and the determination of the authorities, this situation has now been reduced.

On the same afternoon, the Traffic Police also mobilized many mobile tire repair and patching shops on National Highway 1A to sign a commitment not to encroach on the roadway or sidewalk, not to spread nails or other sharp objects on the road, not to modify or change the structure of the vehicle, and not to buy or sell vehicles or spare parts of unknown origin.

In addition to propaganda, the traffic police force also mobilizes people to actively participate in reporting crimes. When discovering people spreading nails and sharp objects on the road, people need to report to the nearest police station for strict handling measures, ensuring people can participate in traffic safely in the area.
