On April 12, the Da Nang City Military Command said that in the process of performing the task of independent patrol combined with seafood fishing in the 8th phase, the first 6 months of 2026 according to the plan of the Da Nang City Military Command, the ĐNa-91218-TS, ĐNa-91221-TS, ĐNa-91225-TS flotilla of the Standing Militia Flotilla promptly rescued fishing vessel QNg-48988-TS in distress at sea.
Specifically, at 1:50 PM on April 12, while on duty in the sea area on the edge of Son Tra, the Naval Flotilla of the DQTT Flotilla received an urgent distress signal from fishing vessel QNg-48988-TS.
Immediately after that, the task force quickly mobilized to approach the scene, deployed 3 electric pumps to pump water from the engine compartment, and at the same time supported fishermen to move nets and purse seine fishing tools to reduce load and prevent sinking for vehicles.
After organizing initial rescue, the fleet of ships continued to clamp and tow the distressed fishing vessel ashore, handing it over to Man Quang Border Guard Station to continue supporting the slipway, handling sinking prevention, and ensuring safety.
Initial verification revealed that fishing vessel QNg-48988-TS had a hole in the bottom due to an underwater impact, causing water to flood into the hold. There were 12 fishermen on board, captained by Mr. Tran Ngoc Duoc, born in 1973, residing in Hai Tan residential area, Tra Cau ward, Quang Ngai province.
The timely detection and organization of rescue and relief of fishing vessels encountering incidents at sea has shown the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness and rapid mobility of the Standing Militia Flotilla force, contributing to protecting the safety of life and property of fishermen when reaching out to sea and sticking to the sea.
