In addition to giving gifts, officers and soldiers on the island also encouraged fishermen to feel secure in sticking to the sea, well complying with regulations when operating at sea, celebrating Tet safely, maintaining the spirit of reaching out to sea, contributing to affirming the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huy Phung - Political Commissar of Truong Sa Island - said that the support for fishermen to go to the island to rest, supplement fresh water, food and essential necessities is always maintained regularly by the unit, especially during the Lunar New Year.
This is not only a task but also the feelings and responsibility of officers and soldiers towards the fishermen who are day and night sticking to the sea, making a living and contributing to protecting sea and island sovereignty.
Captain Cao Van Troc shared that because the sea trip lasted through Tet, the crew members had to welcome the New Year at sea.
The timely care and support of officers, soldiers and people on Truong Sa island has helped fishermen feel warmer and more assured to continue to reach out to sea and stick to the fishing grounds in the first days of the new year.
