Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (residing in Tam Hiep commune, Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province) said that since the embankment construction was implemented, the people here have been very excited, no longer having to spend money to reinforce the dykes. Up to now, the project to upgrade and reinforce the embankment to prevent landslides in Tam Hiep is under construction and is very aesthetic, and in the future will open up development opportunities for the locality.
"We can rest assured that we are no longer afraid of landslides or water flooding into our gardens or houses like before," said Ms. Thuy.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi Nho (residing in Tam Hiep commune, Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province) said that before, there were serious landslides near this area, and people were very confused. Since the construction of the project to upgrade and reinforce the embankment to prevent landslides in the Three Gorges area, the people here have been very supportive.
"Recently, the landslide situation has lost the land of the people a lot. Must have to spend money and effort to reinforce and foster the sections that have been eroded. Currently, the project of upgrading and reinforcing the landslide of Tam Hiep dike is completed by the government.

Mr. Le Minh Truyen - Deputy Director in charge of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Ben Tre province - said that the project to upgrade and reinforce the Tam Hiep embankment to prevent landslides has an investment of more than 325.6 billion VND, with a total length of 20.7 km. Up to now, the project has been inaugurated and put into use on the morning of April 26, 2025.
"When this project is completed, it will contribute to preventing high tides, salinity, sweetener storage, and water regulation to facilitate production with an area of nearly 700 hectares on Tam Hiep Islet. In addition, it also protects infrastructure, houses, protects the safety of life and property, improves the environment and contributes to stabilizing the lives of more than 3,271 people in the dike area, said Mr. Truyen.
