On September 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Ru commune (Dak Lak province) - said that the local government thanked Lao Dong Newspaper for the article "Many roads in the border area of Dak Lak are seriously degraded". Accordingly, Lao Dong Newspaper has accurately reflected the current state of road degradation in the locality, affecting people's lives.
According to Mr. Hoa, the People's Committee of the commune is calculating and developing a plan to propose to competent authorities to allocate funds to repair and upgrade the road from the sugarcane factory to the commune People's Committee headquarters (about 8km).
In addition, National Highway 14C is nearly 10km damaged and degraded and needs to be upgraded and repaired by the Central and the province.
"For damaged inter-village roads, we will balance resources from national target programs to upgrade and repair. Thereby, helping people in the border area to move conveniently, and students to school safely," Mr. Hoa emphasized.
In the past 3 years, the roads connecting villages 1, 2, 4, 5, and 11 in Ia Ru commune, Dak Lak province have been severely degraded and damaged. Meanwhile, the density of heavy-duty vehicles moving through this border commune is quite high.
This situation is not only an infrastructure problem but also affects the security - national defense as well as the livelihoods of thousands of households in the border area of Ia Ru commune.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Danh Hen - Head of Ia Ru Border Guard Station confirmed: "If repaired and upgraded in time, people's travel will be more convenient, students will go to school more easily. Border guards can also quickly access disaster-prone areas to support people, especially during the dry and stormy season".
Ia Ru commune has an area of 217.83km2, with more than 6,700 people mainly ethnic minorities living in 12 villages. Ia Ri Border Guard Station is assigned to manage and protect the border section of about 6.760km.
