On July 16, Mr. Nguyen Ba Nhan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da K'Nang commune, Dam Rong district, Lam Dong province said that up to this point, the work to overcome the consequences of the landslide that left one person dead has been completed.
The local government of Da K'Nang commune has reviewed and determined that there are 11 households, with more than 50 people, that need to be relocated out of the area. Among them, 3 households have houses close to the slope of the land on the high hill behind, which can cause landslides at any time.
The locality has mobilized families with houses in landslide-danger areas to move to safe places. The remaining households are still continuing to voluntarily move out of the area as soon as possible.
Previously, in Trung Tam village, Da K' Nang commune, Dam Rong district, a serious landslide occurred , killing one person.
In the house affected by the landslide were Mr. Dang Quang Lanh and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu and two small children. Mr. Lanh and his two children were lucky to escape in time.
However, Ms. Thu could not escape in time and was buried by rocks and soil, leading to her death. The location of the incident is on Highway 27, the border between Da K'Nang and Phi Lieng communes.
Talking to Lao Dong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da K'Nang commune said that currently, in Da K'Nang commune, there are about 3 areas in the commune with potential landslide risks .
Since the beginning of the rainy season, the People's Committee of Da K'Nang commune has posted warning signs at these points to ensure people's safety.
