The anti-landslide embankment project in groups 13, 14, 15 of the old Pom Han ward (now Cam Duong ward) with a total investment of 50 billion VND is expected to protect the safety of dozens of households in the area at risk of landslides.
The project has been implemented since April 2025, expected to be completed in August of the same year. However, up to now, the construction progress is showing signs of slowing down.

According to actual records, unfavorable weather developments have significantly affected the construction process.
In the September 23 route area, many machines have been mobilized to level the ground, erect steel frames... but the speed has not yet met expectations.
Meanwhile, dozens of households here still have to live in temporary relocation, some are renting a room, some are staying in a cultural house - both temporary and anxious.

Sharing with Lao Dong, Mr. Kieu Chi Tai, a resident of Group 15, said: "Many of our households have had to leave their homes since Typhoon Yagi last year. Every time it rains, I worry about landslides and house collapse. Seeing the embankment project started, everyone was happy because they could soon return home to stabilize their lives. Hopefully it will not last too long.
According to Mr. Tai, this embankment plays an extremely important role in preventing landslides and keeping households in the area safe. Therefore, people hope that the construction unit will complete on schedule, ensuring quality so that people can live with peace of mind.

Informing the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Cam Duong - Hop Thanh Construction Investment Project Management Board said: "This project has received special attention from the leaders of Lao Cai province. However, in recent days, due to the impact of rain and wind, the implementation has also been interrupted. We are working with the contractor to calculate the adjustment, urge the progress, and try to complete the basic work by August 30, 2025.

In the coming time, the construction unit will take advantage of favorable weather, speed up progress, and commit to ensuring the quality of the project and safety for people in the project area.
At the same time, local people also hope that the project will not be delayed to soon escape the makeshift living situation, without having to worry every time there is a wind.
In particular, people still have high expectations for the drastic participation of local authorities so that the project can be completed soon, returning peace to the residential area at the foot of the hill that has struggled through the rainy and flood seasons.
