On November 5, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued a decision approving the adjustment of the BOT project of provincial road 768 under the public-private partnership method, build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract type.
The BOT Road 768 project includes a system of 3 routes with a total length of nearly 24km and invests in an automatic electronic toll collection system (ETC) at toll stations.
According to the decision, the unadjusted part includes completed construction items such as: Renovating and expanding Road 768 from Gac Nai intersection to the access road to Thu Bien bridge; Building a new access road to Thu Bien bridge on Dong Nai province side; Investing in renovating Dong Khoi road, from Tan Phong intersection to Road 768; ETC toll collection system at toll stations 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B.
The design adjustment of toll station No. 4 is located on Highway 768, collecting tolls from Vinh Cuu District to Bien Hoa City, located opposite the existing toll station 3A, which is collecting tolls from Bien Hoa City to Vinh Cuu District, with a scale of 2 mixed toll lanes and 1 non-toll lane for two-wheeled vehicles, rudimentary vehicles, etc.
Install new non-stop automatic toll collection equipment on 2 toll lanes, install 2 new cabins for mixed toll collection.
Construction of toll station No. 4 is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
The total investment of the project after adjustment is about 425 billion VND.
The BOT project will continue to collect fees to recover capital for about 9 years.
Previously, the project was invested by Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company with a total investment of more than 534 billion VND (excluding compensation costs for site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure systems).
The 768 road system creates a vital traffic axis in Vinh Cuu district, connecting with neighboring localities such as Bien Hoa city and Binh Duong province.
On October 12, information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province said that it is expected that from December 1, toll collection will resume to recover capital for the BOT project of provincial road 768.
