The working group of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Ministry of Public Security led by Major General Ngo Thanh Binh, Director and Head of the working group recently visited and worked with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, An Giang Provincial Police.
At the meeting, the working group listened to a preliminary report on the situation of drug crimes in the area. Recently, the situation of drug crimes in An Giang has continued to develop complicatedly, methods and tricks have become increasingly sophisticated, with connections between subjects inside and outside the province, even across the border. The Provincial Police force has deployed many synchronous measures, fighting and destroying many rings and groups, contributing to preventing drugs from being smuggled into the country.
In addition to the achieved results, the work of preventing and combating drug crimes still faces some difficulties due to the characteristics of large areas, long border lines, and many complex traffic routes. The method of committing crimes often changes; the coordination between forces and localities is sometimes not really synchronous. Vehicles and equipment for work are still limited compared to actual requirements.
Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, reported the overall results of the work and recommended that the Department of Drug Crime Investigation continue to pay attention to and support the profession, vehicles, and technical equipment. Strengthen coordination in information exchange, especially in the fight against transnational drug rings and cross-border by road and waterway.
Concluding the meeting, Major General Ngo Thanh Binh acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and efforts of the Drug Crime Investigation Police force, An Giang Provincial Police in the fight against drug crimes.
He emphasized that in the coming time, the force needs to continue to closely follow the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, grasp the situation, proactively coordinate with functional forces to promptly detect and destroy complex networks and gathering places. Focus on propaganda work, mobilizing the masses to participate in drug prevention and control, contributing to maintaining security and order, ensuring a peaceful life for the people.
