Recently, at the regular press conference in August 2025, representatives of An Giang Provincial Police informed about 5 cases under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Affairs.
Accordingly, the incident showed signs of irresponsibility causing serious consequences in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, now Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang Province. On May 8, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency (IPA) of Kien Giang Provincial Police (now An Giang Province) received a petition to prosecute the People's Committee of An Giang Province for violations related to 678 cases according to Inspection Conclusion No. 10/KL-UBND dated March 2, 2023 of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The investigation agency has resolved the matter in accordance with the provisions of law.
On September 8, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police temporarily suspended the case, due to not having a written response, providing complete records, documents and not having appraisal results from competent authorities such as the Department of Construction, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Finance, so there was no basis to determine relevant responsibilities for organizations and individuals in state management of encroached land.
Currently, the case is being temporarily suspended, if there is a basis, the Investigation Agency will resumed the investigation, continue to inspect and verify according to regulations.
Second, the case shows signs of violations in the Investment Project to build, upgrade and renovate the medical waste treatment system of Giong Rieng and Vinh Thuan General Hospital.
On January 15, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police received an Official Dispatch from the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee on transferring the case with signs of violations in this Project. The investigation agency has resolved the matter in accordance with the provisions of law. On May 15, 2024, the Investigation Agency issued a decision to temporarily suspend the application for appraisal but there were no results.
Third, the incident showed signs of violating regulations on bidding, causing serious consequences, occurring at the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Kien Giang province (old). The Provincial Police received a petition to prosecute from the Provincial Inspectorate on May 21, 2025. Currently, the investigation agency is continuing to inspect and verify to clarify the following contents: clarify violations of the bidding process, select contractors and organize construction.
Fourth, in the case of Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste occurring at Kien Giang Water Supply and Drainage Company (old). On May 15, 2023, the Investigation Agency received a petition from the Provincial Inspectorate regarding signs of crime to the Investigation Police Agency.
On January 9, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute 2 related defendants. The case is currently being further investigated and expanded.
5: The case of "Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences" occurred at the Kien Giang Department of Health, the Kien Giang Provincial Center for Disease Control and related units. The Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police initiated a case on April 14, 2023. On April 14, 2024, the case was temporarily suspended due to the lack of appraisal request results. Currently, the Provincial Police are seeking opinions from the Central Judicial Inter-sector.
In addition, regarding the case related to the medical incinerator, the Investigation Police Agency of the province received a petition from the Provincial Inspectorate on March 19, 2025. The investigation agency has resolved the matter in accordance with the provisions of law. On July 21, 2025, the Investigation Agency issued a decision to temporarily suspend the application for appraisal but there were no results.
