On August 2 and 5, the An Giang Provincial Police Party Committee solemnly held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term. This is an important political event, marking a new step in the development of Party building, building the provincial police force, contributing to ensuring political security, social order and safety, serving the cause of socio-economic development of the locality.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Major General Nguyen Van Han - Party Committee Secretary, Director of An Giang Provincial Police - emphasized: During the 2020 - 2025 term, the Provincial Police Party Committee has led the force to excellently complete its tasks, maintain stable political security, ensure social order and safety, and make an important contribution to promoting local socio-economic development.
The Provincial Police Party Committee has achieved and exceeded 30/38 targets of the resolution, notably: capturing and mobilizing wanted subjects to surrender exceeding 19.33% of the target; handling reports and denunciations of crimes reached 90.8%; eradicating more than 7,200 social evils; absolutely protecting the safety of major political events and festivals; preventing serious fires and explosions. The work of Party building and force building is focused on, creating positive changes in the organization of the apparatus, discipline, and order, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized: The An Giang Provincial Police force needs to continue to promote its core role, closely coordinate with all levels, sectors and the entire population, mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system to ensure security and order. Proactively prevent and combat all sabotage plots of hostile forces; effectively serve the goal of building An Giang into a dynamic, comprehensive and sustainable development center of the Mekong Delta. The achievements of the Provincial Police Party Committee are an important foundation, creating momentum for the development of the province.
Speaking at the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, praised the outstanding achievements of the Provincial Police Party Committee. Senior General Pham The Tung suggested that the Party Committee should continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's resolutions and directives; improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization; build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern police force.
Proactively grasp the situation, promptly advise and synchronously deploy measures to protect national security and social order and safety, especially in cyberspace. Promote digital transformation and apply technology to improve work efficiency in the new context.
Senior General Pham The Tung noted that in the coming time, the world and regional situation will continue to develop complicatedly, with many potential factors directly affecting the work of ensuring security and order (ANTT), especially issues of ethnicity, religion, land disputes, lawsuits, etc. Along with that, An Giang will be the location for many important events, including activities under APEC 2027, which pose high requirements for the police force in state management of security and order and fighting against crime.
The Congress approved the direction, goals and key tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term with 4 main groups of contents: Maintaining national security, ensuring social order and safety; Improving the quality of Party building and building forces; Promoting administrative reform, digital transformation; Promoting the strength of the movement of the entire people to protect national security.
The An Giang Provincial Police Party Committee announced the Decision of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee to appoint 23 comrades to the Provincial Police Party Executive Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term; 8 comrades to join the Provincial Police Party Committee Standing Committee; 9 comrades to join the Provincial Police Party Committee Inspection Committee. Major General Nguyen Van Han - Director of An Giang Provincial Police - was appointed as Secretary of the Provincial Police Party Committee.
