Stop priority lane for C and VIP passengers at Da Nang airport

Thanh Hải |

From December 1, 2024 to March 1, 2025, Da Nang airport will temporarily suspend priority lanes at the security screening point of Terminal T1...

Speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of Da Nang International Airport said on December 2 that starting from December 1, priority lanes at the security checkpoint at Terminal T1 of Da Nang International Airport will be temporarily suspended.

Thus, in addition to the subjects served according to the standards prescribed by the State and passengers who are social policy subjects such as: the elderly, children, the disabled, pregnant women, people with revolutionary contributions... who are still allowed to use separate and priority lanes, passengers with VIP cards and C-class tickets will not be allowed to use them for a period of 3 months, starting from December 1, 2024.

As Lao Dong reported, Da Nang International Airport (DIA) has piloted the collection of service fees for using priority lanes at the security screening point of Terminal T1 - Da Nang airport, immediately receiving mixed information. Some airlines have responded in writing.

However, Da Nang International Airport responded that the airport has long facilitated airlines to use priority lanes without charging them service fees. However, airlines and their ticket agents still sell services and charge passengers for Fast track services (from 100,000 to 900,000 VND/passenger).

Airlines have sold service packages from 100,000 to 900,000 VND, which include private check-in counters, private lanes - priority at security screening points, private waiting rooms - with meals and private seats (on the plane)... However, airlines and airline ticket agents have never paid for priority lanes at security screening points to Da Nang International Airport. This is both unfair and lacks resources for reinvestment and infrastructure upgrades. On the other hand, private and priority lanes are also starting to become overloaded because the demand for this service is increasing.

To meet service needs and increase passenger satisfaction through the passenger terminal over the years, Da Nang International Airport has invested in modern equipment, infrastructure, and arranged high-standard resources to build a secure, safe, civilized, polite, and modern destination that meets international standards specified in this priority passage.

The pilot collection of priority lane service fees at the security screening point of Terminal T1 of Da Nang International Airport has been approved by Vietnam Airports Corporation (in Notice No. 3652/TB-TCTCHKVN dated August 29, 2024).

Thus, from December 1, 2024, Class C passengers with VIP cards can claim a refund from the airline, ticket agent... if they have purchased before.

From March 1, 2025, all passengers who want to use the priority lane service at the security screening point of Terminal T1, Da Nang International Airport must pay a fee of VND 100,000/trip/passenger. The fee can be purchased directly from the service of Da Nang International Airport or through airlines, airline ticket agents, travel companies... (when these units have signed a cooperation agreement to purchase this service from Da Nang International Airport).
