On September 13 in Da Nang, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) launched a fundraising campaign to support people in the northern provinces affected by storms and floods.
Accordingly, EVNCPC has called on more than 11,700 officers and employees from member units and the Corporation to contribute one day's salary each to help people affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi), flash floods and landslides. The total amount of donations from all employees of the Corporation is nearly 4.7 billion VND.
At EVNCPC, the General Director called on employees to donate two days' salary and voluntarily contribute at the launching ceremony. At the same time, the Corporation decided to cancel the Mid-Autumn Festival program and transfer all funds to support the people of the North.
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Ngo Tan Cu shared: Storm No. 3 and its circulation have caused severe damage to people, property and power systems in many localities. To support the affected units, EVNCPC has mobilized 274 engineers and workers along with necessary vehicles and equipment to directly help the Northern Power Corporation fix the power problem in Quang Ninh - the place that suffered the most damage.
Previously, EVNCPC also donated 2.5 billion VND from the Welfare Fund and contributions of employees to support the Northern Power Corporation, Hanoi Power Corporation and National Power Transmission Corporation to overcome the consequences of the storm.
Currently, units and individuals of EVNCPC are also continuing to mobilize donations to support people in the North after natural disasters.
