On September 7, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi City Police had official information related to the fire at a factory in the Thong Nhat Irrigation Factory on Ngo Gia Tu Street, Viet Hung Ward.
Accordingly, at about 6:18 p.m. on September 6, Call Center 113 - Hanoi City Police Command Information Center received a report of an incident at the factory at the above address.
Assessing that the fire was complicated and could spread to neighboring areas, Hanoi City Police mobilized the Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team of areas 1, 18, 19 along with 8 fire trucks and nearly 50 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with the authorities, ward police and people to organize fire fighting.
At the scene, the police determined that the area where the fire occurred was an embankment factory of Olasen Vietnam Joint Stock Company with an area of about 1,000m2, built with a steel frame structure, brick walls, corrugated iron roof, 1 floor high.
As soon as they arrived at the scene, through reconnaissance, the fire developed strongly, with the risk of spreading to the entire factory and neighboring houses. Immediately, the commander of fire fighting and rescue directed units to urgently exploit water resources, and deploy attack teams to block the area and prevent the fire from spreading.
Along with that, the fire fighting commander coordinated with the local authorities to mobilize excavators to demolish collapsed structures and water tanks to provide fire fighting water, opening the way for the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force to approach and extinguish the fire.
Other forces including the Traffic Police and Ward Police organized traffic flow, ensuring security and order in the area where the fire occurred.
After a period of efforts to put out the fire, at around 6:58 p.m., the authorities controlled the fire.
At around 8:00 p.m., the fire was basically completely extinguished, with an area of about 700 square meters. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force has protected more than 300m2 of the factory and many neighboring houses.
Property damage and the cause of the fire are being counted and investigated by the authorities.
