On July 13, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Quang Tri province organized the implementation of taking samples, digitizing information and handing over samples of martyrs' remains at Vinh Linh Martyrs' Cemetery (Vinh Linh commune, Quang Tri province).
This activity is aimed at serving DNA testing, gradually identifying missing martyrs who are buried here.
Before entering into performing the task, the Provincial Steering Committee coordinated with the Vinh Linh commune government to solemnly organize a ceremony to pay respects and offer incense to commemorate heroic martyrs. Attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders of the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Home Affairs, heads of the Political Department of the Provincial Military Command, leaders of Party committees, local authorities and forces directly performing tasks.
According to the plan, this deployment will take samples for all 1,952 martyrs' graves with incomplete information at Vinh Linh Martyrs' Cemetery. The goal is to excavate, take samples and temporarily store 100 or more graves every day. At the same time, functional forces will complete 100% of dossiers, digitize data, preserve and hand over remains samples in batches in accordance with regulations and technical procedures.

The entire sampling process is strictly carried out according to specialized technical procedures, ensuring science, accuracy and solemnity. Task forces closely coordinate from determining the location of the grave, excavating, taking samples, preserving, sealing, updating data to handing over.
The Provincial Steering Committee requests participating forces to improve their sense of responsibility, implement carefully and meticulously, absolutely not to let confusion or cross-contamination occur between samples so that DNA testing results reach the highest accuracy.
Sampling work began on July 13 and will be carried out continuously until all targets are completed.
The application of DNA testing methods and data digitization not only has scientific significance but also demonstrates the responsibility and morality of "When drinking water, remember the source" of the Party, State and People; meeting the earnest aspirations of relatives of martyrs' families in the journey to find the names of heroic martyrs.
