On September 11, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that it had requested the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board to urgently complete the project to invest in building runway No. 2 and synchronous works in the Phu Cat Airport area, ensuring commercial operation from October 29.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the remaining workload of the project is not much but is scattered over a large area of the construction site, affecting the completion of each item and completion of acceptance procedures.
The province requests the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board to review all remaining items and works; develop detailed construction schedules daily and complete each item thoroughly to ensure acceptance conditions.
Related dossiers and procedures must be completed in parallel, ensuring sufficient conditions for commercial operation of runway No. 2 from October 29. In which, items of construction and installation of technical infrastructure serving flights must be completed before September 15.
The province also requested the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board to urgently contact and coordinate with functional units under the Ministry of Construction to carry out acceptance and complete the items before September 25.
Leaders of the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board must directly monitor the project, assign leaders and technical staff to work at the scene to urge, direct and promptly handle arising problems.
If it is not guaranteed to complete the commissioning of runway No. 2 from October 29, the director and leaders of the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board directly monitoring the project must be fully responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The Project to Invest in the construction of runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport has a total investment of more than 3,200 billion VND, invested by the Gia Lai Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board.
After upgrading, Phu Cat Airport can operate Code C aircraft such as A320, A321 and equivalents; when needed, it can receive Code E aircraft.
