Quang Tri - A sea turtle was found and rescued by locals after being wrapped tightly in a net.

On November 19, the Con Co Island Marine Reserve Management Board confirmed that it had just released a rare sea turtle back into the natural environment.

Earlier, at around 10am the same day, people at Cua Viet beach (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) discovered a sea turtle caught in a net and washed ashore. Because the net was tightly wrapped, the sea turtle had difficulty moving.

Upon receiving the information, volunteers from the Con Co Island Marine Reserve Management Board arrived at the scene. The turtle discovered was a rare green turtle, weighing about 20kg.

After the net was removed, the turtle's health stabilized, and local people and authorities released it back into the marine environment.
