To ensure the safety of passengers and their property, the administration has temporarily suspended the operation of ferries and boats from the mainland to the islands and archipelagos.
Accordingly, ferries and boats have temporarily suspended operations on routes such as: Rach Gia to Phu Quoc, Nam Du and vice versa; Ha Tien to Phu Quoc and vice versa. The Rach Gia to Hon Son route, managed by the inland port authority, continues to operate normally.
According to the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Station, the Southern Sea area has moderate to strong southwest-west winds, with frequent gusts at levels 7-8. At 11 PM on July 12, actual wind measurements at coastal stations were at level 2, with Rach Gia station recording level 4 winds and level 7 gusts. The Phu Quoc sea area experienced level 8 gusts, with wave heights from 0.25-1.25m. Today and tonight (July 13), the sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have southwest winds at level 5, occasionally reaching level 6, with gusts at levels 7-8. There will be showers and thunderstorms at sea.
Forecast for the next 24 hours: Southwest-west winds will be strong. The sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang will have winds at levels 5-6, with gusts at levels 6-7, and wave heights of 1.5-2.5m; the sea will be slightly to moderately rough.
Warning for the next 24-48 hours in the Southern Sea area: strong southwest-west winds at level 6, occasionally reaching level 7; gusts at levels 7-8, occasionally reaching level 9 offshore; wave heights of 2.0-3.0m; the sea will be rough.
Warning of disaster risk level due to strong winds in the Southern Sea area at level 2. Strong winds and high waves will pose a danger to boats and ships.
Previously, on July 11, widespread heavy rain occurred in Kien Giang, causing deep flooding, affecting traffic and the lives of residents in Rach Gia City.
