Specifically, at the above time, V.T. L. (born 2013), a 7th grade student at Nam Tien Secondary School, was sleeping in the house when a storm struck, causing the house to collapse and wood to fall on her.
Immediately after the incident occurred, local authorities and commune police and military forces quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with people to organize rescue and first aid for the victim. However, due to severe injuries, baby V.T. L. died.
In addition to casualties, the thunderstorm also caused one house in the commune to completely collapse, and 9 other houses to have their roofs blown off and damaged.
According to Nam Xuan Commune People's Committee, after the storm, the locality has assigned forces to the scene, urgently supporting affected and damaged households to soon stabilize their lives.
According to the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Thanh Hoa province, in the afternoon and night of April 28, thunderstorms and hail also occurred in many other localities such as Phu Xuan, Hien Kiet, Ngoc Lien, Pu Luong communes..., causing dozens of houses to have their roofs blown off and heavily damaged. Along with that, hundreds of hectares of crops were damaged and broken.
