According to records, heavy rain and rising river water have flooded the alluvial area in Trung Ha commune (Yen Lac district, Vinh Phuc province), ponds and lakes in the communes are full. Currently, households in the communes along the dike of Yen Lac district are still safe.
To proactively prevent and combat flooding, and avoid being passive and surprised, the leaders of Yen Lac district went to the riverside communes and vulnerable dike areas, directing the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the communes to mobilize 100% of the police, military, militia and people, prepare means and plans, and be ready to respond when situations arise.
In particular, priority is given to screening and evacuating households in areas at high risk of flooding to safe places. Strengthening propaganda, advising people to be more vigilant, proactively taking response measures when heavy rain continues in the next few days.
Records in Ngoc Long village, Hong Chau commune, Yen Lac district, Vinh Phuc show that local authorities and militia forces have supported people in evacuating their assets to minimize damage when floods come.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Red River, in Son Tay - Hanoi, as of the afternoon of September 11, in Ha Tan and Hung Thinh villages (Duong Lam commune - Son Tay town - Hanoi), there is only about 20 cm left before the Red River water will flood the road surface outside the dike.
Last night (September 10), 100% of households outside the dike were evacuated inside the dike. The total number of people in Ha Tan and Hung Thinh villages who were evacuated to safe places was 220 households with 850 people. The government and people made efforts to "empty gardens and empty houses" to avoid floods and minimize damage.
Speaking to Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Nguyen Dang Thao - Secretary of Duong Lam Commune Party Committee said: "On the night of September 10, Duong Lam Commune evacuated hundreds of households to a safe place. Of which, Hung Thinh village had 147 households with 560 people; Ha Tan village had 60 households with 197 people.
Most households moved to relatives' houses to avoid the flood. The rest were evacuated to the hall of the People's Committee of Duong Lam commune or other locations arranged by the People's Committee. People's property was secured. Police and militia forces, along with shock troops, were on duty to patrol and protect, taking turns guarding the Red River dike all night long, not daring to rest for a moment."
