Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Council Urban Committee will supervise the departments: Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, Culture and Sports, Planning - Architecture; Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Boards; Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board under the Department of Construction; together with investors in temporary and weak bridge construction works in the city (according to the proposal of the specialized department or suddenly when necessary) on supervision of renovation, upgrading, and construction to replace weak bridges and temporary bridges in Hanoi.
The supervision is conducted to assess the current management status and investment situation of weak bridges and temporary bridges attached to routes and transport infrastructure works in Hanoi; clarify the results achieved, difficulties and problems in the implementation process; at the same time, determine the causes and responsibilities of relevant agencies and units.
Through supervision, it will help promptly detect errors and violations and propose solutions and recommendations to competent authorities on the contents that need attention, in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of State management in organizing the renovation, upgrading, and construction of replacement bridges and temporary bridges in Hanoi.
Statistics for the whole city of Hanoi show that there are currently 144 bridges that are deteriorating and need to be repaired, upgraded or replaced. Of which, there are 55 bridges managed by the city that need investment in renovation and repair.
