From August 29, cars will be organized for one-way traffic on some streets around Dong Da Lake, O Cho Dua ward, in order to reduce congestion and restore traffic order and urban area.
According to the announcement of the Hanoi Department of Construction on August 28, the pilot plan to organize one-way traffic for cars in the Dong Da Lake area will be implemented from August 29 to November 29, 2020.
Specifically, on Mai Anh Tuan street, cars are traveling in one direction from Hoang Cau street to Dang Tien Dong street.
On Dang Tien Dong street, cars are traveling in one direction from Mai Anh Tuan street to house number 68 Dang Tien Dong street.
Thus, the traffic direction for cars is organized along the Hoang Cau - Mai Anh Tuan - Dang Tien Dong route.
The plan aims to ensure traffic order and safety, contributing to reducing congestion and reorganizing traffic in the area around Dong Da Lake.
To serve the pilot project, the Hanoi Department of Construction requests relevant units to complete the traffic infrastructure system before August 29.
The Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board is responsible for adjusting traffic signs, painting road markings, installing medians and remote traffic diversion signs at related intersections.
This unit also coordinates with the Traffic Control Center and Hanoi City Police to monitor vehicle traffic, adjust the traffic light cycle at nearby intersections in accordance with the actual situation.
The Traffic Police Department coordinates with the O Cho Dua ward authorities and functional forces to arrange forces to guide and regulate at intersections and turnaround points, especially in the early days of implementing the plan.
During the pilot period, functional forces of O Cho Dua ward strengthened inspection and handling of violations of order, traffic safety and urban order around Dong Da Lake.
Acts of encroaching on sidewalks and roadways for business and trading; stopping and parking vehicles illegally or causing traffic obstruction will be inspected and handled.
The Hanoi Department of Construction coordinates with local authorities and information and propaganda agencies to help people understand the plan and proactively choose a suitable route.
After 3 months of piloting, functional agencies will assess the traffic situation, record arising inadequacies and propose appropriate adjustment plans.
