At about 10:30 am on August 28, the passenger car was parked in the gas station area on Le Quang Dao street (Hoc Mon commune, Ho Chi Minh City), when it suddenly caught fire from behind. The fire quickly spread throughout the car body, a column of black smoke rose high accompanied by many small explosions.
Detecting a fire occurring right near the pumps, gas station staff and surrounding people immediately used handheld fire extinguishers and gas foam nozzles to try to extinguish the fire, resolutely preventing the risk of fire spreading to the fuel tank area.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police of Ho Chi Minh City quickly dispatched fire trucks and officers and soldiers to the scene to deploy a plan to control the fire. After about 20 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished.
The fire did not cause any casualties and was prevented in time, without affecting the nearby gas pumping system. At the scene, the passenger car was damaged, with a large part of the interior and ceiling burned down.
Currently, the cause of the incident and the extent of damage are being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
