The Department of Transport of Hai Duong province also has a plan to divert traffic in the area of 3 bridges Phu Luong, An Thai and Binh. Accordingly, these 3 bridges were built a long time ago and are still operating normally. However, when the storm and flood situation and the water flow are as strong as now, one of the weaknesses of these 3 bridges is that there is no anti-collision system for the bridge piers and the height of the navigation compartment is limited, potentially causing the safety of the construction.
The Department of Transport requests that, in case of an unsafe incident, all three bridges must set up checkpoints, arrange guards on both sides of the bridge, and direct traffic so that drivers can avoid the area of the three bridges; at the same time, it requests the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration to prohibit water transport vehicles from traveling on central rivers through the province.
From 6 p.m. on September 10, the Department of Transport banned all water vehicles from traveling on rivers managed by the province, except for vehicles serving flood and storm prevention and ensuring national security.
