The Con Son stream renovation and restoration project has a total investment of more than 40.4 billion VND, including the main items: building 2 dams near Thach Ban Lon; landscape renovation, handling water loss locations; dredging mud and sand in the stream bed; planting trees, creating vegetation along both banks... The project's objective is to gradually restore the ecological space, enhance the landscape and enhance the value of heritage.
Inspecting the project, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau reminded the construction unit to carefully review the flooding situation, recalculate the height and capacity of the pump, and ensure drainage capacity when the water level rises. The renovation must maximize the natural elements of the stream, limit concretization; study and supplement railings and barriers to ensure safety but still harmonize the landscape of the relic.
The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee also requested to study a plan to embellish the landscape on both sides of the stream, plant additional trees, create suitable highlights to serve tourists. The electrical and lighting systems are reasonably calculated, ensuring aesthetics, safety and economy; consider solutions to reduce noise, maintain the solemn and peaceful space of the relic site.
The project implementation process must ensure quality, progress, strict compliance with regulations on relic conservation; close coordination between the investor, construction unit and relic management board, in order to restore the stream towards being close to nature, contributing to enhancing the landscape value and attractiveness of Con Son Relic Site.
In the landscape renovation area in front of Con Son Pagoda, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Con Son - Kiep Bac Relic Management Board and Tran Hung Dao Ward People's Committee to develop a plan to organize traffic, arrange reasonable parking lots, strengthen links between relic sites, strictly protect the landscape of the semi-circular lake area; urgently collect damaged trees, handle degraded works along the road leading to the relic, and ensure general aesthetics.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment should soon deploy the numbering and management of the long-standing pine tree system belonging to the relic, especially not affecting the root system of trees when arranging parking areas for visitors. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism should develop explanations at relic sites in a complete, concise, and easy-to-remember manner, highlighting historical and cultural values.
The Department of Construction coordinates with units to urgently develop a master plan for the old Chi Linh area, in which the focus is the Con Son - Kiep Bac Relic Area and relic sites in the area, ensuring the preservation and promotion of the value of relic sites associated with sustainable tourism development orientation.
