Many businesses have resumed operations after Tet
According to preliminary reports, 17 enterprises in industrial parks in the area arranged 4,879 workers to work during Tet to ensure production plans and fulfill orders, excluding Tet duty forces such as security, technical, maintenance and regular operating positions. In which, mainly concentrated at LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. (about 4,000 workers), Shin-Etsu Vietnam Co., Ltd. (about 450 workers) and LMS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (about 105 workers).
On February 20th (the 4th day of the first lunar month), 1 enterprise organized work again with 358/401 workers present, reaching 89.2%. On February 21st (the 5th day of the first lunar month), 10 enterprises resumed operation with 5,785/6,432 workers returning to work, reaching 89.9%. Today, (February 22nd, i.e., the 6th day of the first lunar month), it is expected that 6 more enterprises will organize production and business again.
Also according to the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee, from February 23 (January 7), about 73% of businesses are expected to resume operations; on February 24, about 14.4% of businesses and on February 25, about 10.6% of businesses continue to arrange production at the beginning of the year. The remaining businesses organize scattered work from the 10th day of Tet to the latest March 2nd (January 14th of the lunar calendar).
Through grasping from the grassroots trade union, most units have stable and increased orders after Tet. Some units have orders that have increased significantly compared to before Tet such as Sable Vietnam Co., Ltd., Superior EMS Co., Ltd., TK Co., Ltd. (same Cam Dien - Luong Dien Industrial Park), Raylink Co., Ltd. (An Duong Industrial Park), SXLX Bridgestone Co., Ltd. (DEEPC 1 Industrial Park), Risuntech Co., Ltd. (Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park)...
Caring for and encouraging to retain workers
It is known that during the Lunar New Year, the City Labor Federation cared for 46,418 union members and workers in industrial parks with a total budget of 17.1 billion VND, including Tet allowances for 9,740 people, supporting 3,5658 bus tickets home for Tet and giving 1,020 gift bags at the "Tet Sum vay" Program. On this occasion, the trade union organization presented gifts to 645 businesses that well implemented regimes and policies for workers, with a total budget of 967.5 million VND. The City People's Committee supported Tet allowances for 5,662 union members and workers with a total budget of 5.6 billion VND.
Enterprises and grassroots trade unions in industrial parks have spent 221.3 billion VND to take care of Tet for workers; of which 2,882 workers in difficult circumstances are subsidized from 1 million VND/person or more, 10,690 workers are supported with bus tickets and 16 enterprises organize 105 bus trips to take 4,725 workers home for Tet. On average, each union member and worker receives Tet gifts of about 650,000 VND/person, ensuring 100% of union members and workers are taken care of during Tet.
100% of businesses implement Tet bonuses for employees with an average bonus of 1.2 months' salary; of which about 75% of businesses pay before Tet, 25% of businesses pay a part before Tet and complete after the holiday to stabilize labor returning to work.
