The investment project to build a square in front of the Political - Administrative Center was approved by the city in July 2023. The project also contributes to completing the new city center system according to Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the Politburo on building and developing the city to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and the orientation of urban space development according to the General City Construction Plan.
The project also serves the cultural, sports and entertainment needs of the people; creates green space that brings landscape value to the area, enhances urban aesthetics; and is also a place to organize political events and community activities of the people.
Recently, the Hai Phong City People's Council passed a Resolution to adjust the policy of this project. The scale of the project is to build the foundation and road surface, plant trees, lawns and fountains in the Political Square (QT-1) adjacent to the road in front of the Political - Administrative Center with an area of about 4 hectares (including the street lighting system), dig a lake, build a reinforced concrete embankment for the landscape lake for the entire volume of the 2 Squares; build a water supply and drainage system. The total usable area is 10.3 hectares.
In this adjustment, the city will add investment in building technical infrastructure and planting trees in the Political Square adjacent to the road in front of the Administrative Political Center with an area of about 9.61 hectares. This adjustment aims to ensure synchronous technical infrastructure when the Administrative Political Center and the City Conference - Performance Center are completed in 2025.
This scale adjustment also resulted in an increase of nearly VND262 billion in the total investment of the project approved earlier. Therefore, the city decided to adjust the total investment of the project to VND336.32 billion (an increase of VND74.443 billion compared to before), from the city budget.
