The Ben Thanh Traffic Police Team is verifying the incident in which dozens of motorcyclists wearing orange uniforms ran red lights at the Nguyen Hue - Le Loi intersection, Saigon Ward (formerly District 1), causing public outrage.
The incident occurred at 8:8 a.m. on August 11. A group of more than 10 people wearing orange shirts, driving a Vespa scooter, traveling on Le Loi Street. When arriving at the intersection with Nguyen Hue Street, although the traffic light had turned red, this group of people still did not stop but turned right onto Nguyen Hue Street.
According to the residents, there are no signs or signals allowing people to turn right at red lights at this intersection.
The video recording this violation after being posted on social media attracted attention and caused many angry opinions.
Currently, the Ben Thanh Traffic Police Team (under the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police) has grasped the information and is coordinating to verify the identities of the people involved to invite them to work and handle them according to the law.
