HCMC - Two passenger buses stopped across the entire lane, forcing many motorbikes to climb the sidewalk to move.

On August 11, a clip was circulated on social media recording two passenger cars stopping in line on Ngo Gia Tu Street (from Hong Bang Street to Phu Dong intersection, An Dong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), forcing many vehicle owners to climb their motorbikes onto the sidewalk to move. A moment later, the two passenger buses left the area one by one.

According to Mr. Duong Lap Minh (residing in An Dong ward), Decree 168/2024/ND-CP stipulates that motorbike drivers who drive on the sidewalk, except when entering a house or office, will be fined from 46 million VND. "So in this situation, if the traffic police check, will the people be punished or not?", he wondered.

Regarding this issue, the leader of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that the unit had grasped the incident and was checking and handling it according to regulations.
