After a convincing victory with a total score of 4-0 against Malaysia in the two semi-final matches, the Vietnamese team is aiming for a favorable result in the away match at Rajamangala Stadium of Thailand. The first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final takes place at 8:00 PM on August 22.
In Ho Chi Minh City, from the evening of August 22, a large number of fans went to the city center area, carrying national flags, red flags with yellow stars, banners and wearing familiar red shirts to join in the fire for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team.

At about 7 pm, the atmosphere at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street began to become bustling. Many groups of fans gathered to take photos, sing cheering songs for the team and prepared flags and banners before the match kicked off. The later it got, the more people flocked to this area, creating a space filled with red color.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee installed 5 large LED screens along Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, the section from Le Loi intersection to Ton Duc Thang intersection, to serve people and tourists to watch the final match for free.
Although the Vietnamese team had to play at Thailand's home ground, the cheering atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City was still no less passionate. Many families brought young children to the pedestrian street early to join in the football festival.
Drums, cheers and red color covered the city center area, all heading towards Rajamangala Stadium.
“I was present at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street from 6 pm to immerse myself in everyone cheering for the Vietnamese team. The atmosphere here is very exciting, everyone brings flags, red shirts and together shout the name of the team. I hope the players will play confidently and achieve favorable results” - Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, living in Xom Chieu ward, shared.

On the evening of August 22, fans across the country, including thousands of fans in Ho Chi Minh City, continued to expect coach Kim Sang-sik and his team to create an important advantage before the second leg final.
