On May 21, the People's Council of An Giang province approved the draft Resolution Regulating the level of support for health insurance (HI) contributions for people with prestige among ethnic minorities who are not subject to state budget contributions and HI contribution support in An Giang province.
Support 100% of health insurance contribution costs for people with prestige among ethnic minorities in An Giang province. In case one subject simultaneously meets the conditions to be supported by many policies, it is considered to apply policies with the highest level of support. The source of funding for implementation is ensured by the local budget according to regulations.
According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, in recent years, our Party and State have always had guidelines and policies to prioritize and comprehensively develop ethnic minority areas in each period, and the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities has been gradually improved.
With the attention and support of the Central Government, many ethnic minority programs and policies have been invested and supported in An Giang province, especially in remote and isolated communes and ethnic minority areas. The implementation of ethnic minority policy programs always receives the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Councils, and People's Committees at all levels; the coordination of propaganda, supervision, and criticism of the Front and socio-political organizations; the enthusiasm and consensus of people to participate in implementation.
Over the past time, reputable people have participated well in propaganda and mobilization of people in their residential areas to participate in implementing self-management and self-defense, the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas", strengthening and promoting the movement "All people protect national security" in areas with a large number of ethnic minorities living in communes, wards, and special zones. Through this, a solid people's security posture has been built in ethnic minority areas, especially ethnic minorities are ready to support functional forces in the fight against crime, law violations, participate with local authorities to resolve and stabilize many disputes, complaints, and conflicts within ethnic minorities and complex cases occurring in places with a large number of ethnic minorities living.
Ethnic minorities access information and participate more actively in implementing the province's guidelines and policies through reputable officials.
In fact, through the current review, there are still 454 reputable people in An Giang province who have not been supported by the state to pay health insurance. Among them, there are 316 Khmer ethnic groups, 9 Cham ethnic groups, 30 Hoa ethnic groups and 99 Kinh ethnic groups.
The support aims to strengthen the motivation to promote their role and implement policies for them among ethnic minorities, contributing to the good implementation of ethnic affairs, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and building the great national unity bloc.
