Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - said: In recent years, the Party and State have issued many important policies and guidelines for socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense in the Mekong Delta. In particular, identifying groups of tasks and solutions on perfecting institutions, development policies and promoting regional linkages; many policies on economic development, poverty reduction, and improving the material and spiritual life of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas have been issued and implemented.
The Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program and the Socio-Economic Development Program for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030 have been directed by the Government and the Prime Minister to ministries, branches and localities to implement drastically, focusing on and completing on schedule and set goals.

From 2021 to 2025, the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030, phase I with 10 component projects has policies to support housing, residential land, production land, domestic water, job conversion; preferential loans for production development, support for machinery and equipment, fertilizers, seeds, crops, livestock; land allocation, forest allocation; agricultural and forestry promotion; vocational training, job creation, livelihood for ethnic minorities; medical facilities, culture, education, social security... closely linked to the lives and needs of ethnic minorities. This is a large investment of resources from the Party and the State, a breakthrough investment and support policy, a motivation for ethnic minorities to strive to develop in all aspects, contributing to the sustainable development of each province in the region and joining the common development of the whole country.
At the Conference, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front listened to the opinions expressed very enthusiastically, responsibly and affectionately by the delegates, prestigious people representing ethnic minorities in the region. These are thoughts, recommendations, proposals from practice and bring a breath of life to reflect and recommend to the Party and State through the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Entering 2026, a year with many important events of the country, the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front suggested that Party committees, authorities and all ethnic groups in the Mekong Delta provinces continue to pay attention to building a great bloc of national unity, solidarity of ethnic and religious groups, continue to proactively and synchronously implement the policies of the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Socio-economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2026-2035.
Proactively propose and coordinate the organization of regular meetings and dialogues between heads of Party committees and authorities and people of all walks of life in localities and areas, according to target groups to fully listen to the thoughts and aspirations of all walks of life.
Proactively coordinate and resolve complicated cases arising from the grassroots, especially promoting the role of prestigious individuals and outstanding people among ethnic minorities in ethnic work. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces in the region need to proactively coordinate closely with Party committees and authorities in grasping the thoughts, feelings, reflections and recommendations of ethnic minorities...
The Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will synthesize and fully reflect to the Party, State, central departments, ministries, branches and local authorities to continue to have effective solutions and continue to invest appropriately in resources for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the region, taking care of the lives and harmonious and even development of ethnic minorities in the Region.
