Lao Cai - The owner of Chiba Ecolodge homestay has dismantled the violating constructions.

On May 12, in an exchange with PV, Mr. Le Van Tuyen - the investor of the homestay shared that the dismantling started yesterday (May 11), and the business is currently actively overcoming existing problems and limitations.

He said that he had directed staff to dismantle the violating items at the resort.

According to the sharing of this business owner, Chiba Ecolodge homestay is located next to the Mu Cang Chai Ecovillage investment project in hamlet 5, Mu Cang Chai commune, Lao Cai province invested by Mu Cang Chai Ecotourism Cooperative. In which, accommodation items named deluxe, family, glamping, standard... are identified as being invested and built by Mr. Le Van Tuyen personally on the land that has been transferred and bought from people.

During the time of completing related procedures waiting for the construction of the Mu Cang Chai Ecological Village project, due to the long travel distance, the unit built a number of assembled houses to serve accommodation for investors, experts and workers working at the project.

At the same time, this area is also being tested to welcome guests to survey tourism demand in Mu Cang Chai. That is why there is Chiba Ecolodge homestay" - Mr. Le Van Tuyen said.

After Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection on the fact that many construction items have not completed legal procedures but have been put into use, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee directed an inter-sectoral inspection team to investigate.

After working with functional agencies, the facility owner voluntarily dismantled the violating items, including many rooms and the elevator area.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected that Chiba Ecolodge, although not fully licensed, has basically been completed and put into accommodation business.

According to records at the end of April 2026, the resort is located on a hillside along Kim stream, adjacent to forests and cornfields of local people. Some accommodation items have been formed here.

Talking to PV, Mr. Tran Ngoc Hiep - Chairman of Mu Cang Chai Commune People's Committee said that the project is invested by Mu Cang Chai Ecological Tourism Cooperative and has just been approved for investment policy.

Regarding the Mu Cang Chai Ecovillage Investment Project, Mr. Le Van Tuyen provided many documents showing that the enterprise is implementing legal procedures related to the project.

According to PV's investigation, the project has been granted investment policy, environmental permit and recently has a decision to transfer land for implementation.

The business also hopes that the locality will continue to support and create conditions to accelerate the legal completion process so that the tourist area can soon be put into operation, contributing to improving service quality and promoting tourism development in the locality. Specifically, in September 2024, Mu Cang Chai Ecotourism Cooperative was approved for investment policy by the People's Committee of Yen Bai province (old) with a total capital of more than 9 billion VND.

By December 2024, the project was granted an environmental permit. From 2024 to now, functional agencies of the former Yen Bai province and the merged Lao Cai province continue to allow businesses to implement the agreement to receive land use rights transfer to implement the project.

In the coming time, the project investor hopes that the local government will continue to accompany based on legal regulations, soon remove obstacles so that the Mu Cang Chai Ecological Village project can soon be built and put into operation.
