Lam Dong - More than 10 tons of fish raised by a household in Ward 3 Bao Loc died unexpectedly, causing an estimated loss of about 800 million VND.

On October 12, the People's Committee of Bao Loc Ward 3, Lam Dong Province, said that the unit had sent a report to relevant departments and branches to determine the cause of the mass death of fish raised by a household in the area, causing great economic damage.

According to Mr. Tong Van Long - Vice Chairman of Bao Loc Ward 3 People's Committee, Mr. Vu Van Soan's household (Anh Mai 3 residential group) is a family with fish that died unusually.

Accordingly, in Mr. Soan's pond of about 5,000m2, from October 8 to 11, there were mass fish deaths, with a total weight of more than 10 tons. The main types of dead fish are catfish (1 - 1.4 kg/fish) and carp (2 - 2.5 kg/fish).

Mr. Soan's family collected the dead fish, sold them to the fertilizer processing facility and recorded the specific quantity. The total estimated value of damage is about 800 million VND.

Immediately after the incident, Ward 3 Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department - Lam Dong Provincial Police to inspect the scene, take water samples and fish samples to analyze toxins. Currently, the authorities have not yet determined the cause of the mass fish deaths.
