A fire broke out at a 15th floor apartment in Tam Phu apartment building (Tam Binh ward), causing many residents to panic and flee.
At around 11:30 a.m. on October 12, an apartment on the 15th floor of Tam Phu apartment building (Cay Keo street, Tam Binh ward) suddenly caught fire. Black smoke quickly spread to apartments and neighboring floors, causing many residents to panic and flee the building by footsteps.

Ms. Thanh Ha, a resident on the 14th floor, said that her family was eating rice when they felt a burning smell, then the smoke started to come into the house.
"When I was eating, the main door was open so I saw smoke coming in very quickly. The whole family immediately ran down to the ground floor. I thought that if I ran a little slower, I would suffocate and could not breathe, luckily the family would open the main door at that time," Ms. Ha recounted. She and her husband quickly carried their 2-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son out safely.

According to witnesses, the fire broke out in the bedroom of an apartment. At the time of the fire, the apartment owner did not have a house.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police (HCMC Police) dispatched 3 fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to the scene. After about 10 minutes of effort, the fire was completely controlled.

The fire did not cause any human casualties. Currently, the authorities are continuing to block off the scene and investigate the cause of the fire.
