On January 2, the Traffic Police Department of Quang Binh Province Police said that after half a month of implementing a peak period to ensure traffic order and safety during the New Year, Lunar New Year and early spring festivals, nearly 800 cases have been fined.
After half a month, 236 teams participated in patrolling and controlling. Traffic police recorded and fined 794 cases on the spot. Of these, 309 were cars; 485 were motorbikes, scooters, and electric scooters. The estimated fine was nearly 2.4 billion VND.
Notably, traffic police revoked 190 driving licenses. 416 vehicles were impounded (29 cars, 387 motorbikes, scooters, electric motorbikes, electric bicycles).
Along with ensuring traffic order and safety, through patrolling and controlling, the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police also discovered 5 economic cases; illegal mineral exploitation; banned goods, counterfeit goods, dirty food, unknown origin... and detained 5 related subjects.
According to the provincial Traffic Police Department, resolutely handling violations of traffic safety and order on routes will contribute significantly to reducing traffic accidents. The Department will focus on violations such as driving with alcohol in the blood, using drugs, speeding, encroaching on lanes, not obeying traffic signals, carrying more people than prescribed, carrying oversized or overloaded vehicles, etc.
