According to the latest announcement, due to the serious impact of ash from Krakatau volcano (Indonesia), Vietnam Airlines was forced to cancel some flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta on September 7 to ensure safety for passengers and flight crews.
Accordingly, the canceled flights on September 7 include:
Ho Chi Minh City - Jakarta leg: VN631D, VN631;
Hanoi - Jakarta leg: VN635D, VN635;
Jakarta - Ho Chi Minh City leg: VN630D, VN630;
Jakarta - Hanoi leg: VN634B, VN634D.
Flight VN634 (Jakarta - Hanoi) is expected to resume operation at 9:00 PM on September 7th (local time).
Vietnam Airlines said that the airline will continue to closely monitor the diễn biến of volcanic ash and update the operating schedule of the remaining flights as soon as there is new information.
This airline reminds passengers with flights to and from Jakarta during this time to actively monitor flight status on the website, mobile application or official channels of Vietnam Airlines before moving to the airport.
Previously, at 9:50 am this morning (September 7), Vietjet said that due to Jakarta airport continuing to temporarily close, 4 flights to and from Jakarta on September 7 were adjusted departure times.
Accordingly, flight VJ929 Hanoi - Jakarta delayed departure from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM on September 7th (local time); flight VJ928 Jakarta - Hanoi departure from 6:50 PM to 11:40 PM on September 7th (local time).
Similarly, VJ855 Ho Chi Minh City - Jakarta route was adjusted from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM on September 7 (local time), VJ854 Jakarta - Ho Chi Minh City flight was delayed from 4:55 PM to 10:20 PM on September 7 (local time).
Faced with the impact of volcanic ash, Vietjet notes that passengers with schedules to and from Jakarta should proactively follow flight information and schedules at the "My Flight" section on the Vietjet Air website and the Vietjet Air application.
