On September 2, Mr. Vo Quang Quoc - Deputy Director of Lien Khuong International Airport - said that AirAsia flight AK571 from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) landed at 10:58 am to bring the first international passengers back to Da Lat (Lam Dong).
This is the first international flight to resume operations at Lien Khuong airport after more than 5 months of the airport temporarily suspending operations to repair runways and taxiways.
After flight AK571 landed, at 11:40 am, flight AK572 from Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur took off, officially restoring the regular international route between Lam Dong and Malaysia.
The return of international flights on National Day September 2 is expected to contribute to strengthening the connection between Lam Dong and Southeast Asia, creating favorable conditions for tourism and trade activities.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported: Lien Khuong International Airport resumed operations from August 19, after more than 5 months of closure for repair and upgrade of runways and taxiways.
According to the plan, the peak period of passenger service at Lien Khuong International Airport on National Day September 2nd takes place from August 28th to the end of September 3rd.
During this time, the airport is expected to operate 36-40 flights/day, serving about 7,000-8,500 passengers/day. The number of passengers is expected to increase by 20-30% compared to the first week of resumption.
Lien Khuong International Airport requests units to maintain 24/7 on-duty forces, proactively use vehicles, equipment and spare materials to promptly handle arising situations.
