This is a large-scale cultural project with a total investment of more than VND 2,240 billion, built right on the campus of the existing cultural house at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach.
The project has a land area of over 14,344 m2, including 25 floors (4 basements and 21 upper floors), the height to the top of the roof is 84.15 m. The total investment capital is from the Ho Chi Minh City budget, the implementation period will last until the end of 2028.
The Youth Cultural House under the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union was established on September 4, 1975 on the land covered by Pham Ngoc Thach, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Hai Ba Trung and Nguyen Van Chiem streets.
Each year, the Youth Culture House welcomes about 5 million young people to live and study. However, after 50 years of operation, the facilities are increasingly overloaded, unable to meet the increasing demand.
In 2015, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee directed investment in the construction of a new project. The initial capital was estimated at about 800 billion VND, then adjusted to increase to an actual scale, by 2023 to more than 2,240 billion VND.
The new Youth Cultural House is expected to become a modern cultural - educational - creative center, contributing to promoting the role of young people in building and developing Vietnamese culture in the new period.
