According to warning information, in recent days, the weather in Ha Tinh province has been complicated, intense heat has appeared in many areas. Prolonged high temperatures make vegetation, shrubs, and dry grass in and along forests easily catch fire, posing a very high risk of forest fires.
In fact, in the past 15 days, many forest fires and ground fires of different scale have continuously occurred in the province, appearing in many localities. Although fires have been promptly handled and controlled by functional forces and people, it shows that the risk of forest fires in the hot season is at an alarming level.
According to forecasts, in the coming time, the Ha Tinh area will continue to experience prolonged hot weather, with common temperatures from 35 - 38°C, in many places possibly above 39°C. Intense heat quickly dries up the undergrowth, branches, and bushes under the forest canopy; just a small mistake in using fire can lead to fire spreading, causing great damage to forest resources, ecological environment and directly affecting people's lives and property.
To proactively prevent forest fires, local police recommend that people absolutely do not burn fields, burn vegetation, or burn garbage near forest areas when safety conditions are not ensured and not permitted by competent authorities. Do not use fire or heat sources in the forest or along the forest; do not throw cigarette butts, charcoal, or burnt ash in areas with many bushes, dry grass, or flammable materials.
People need to strictly implement regulations on forest fire prevention and fighting; raise awareness of forest protection, especially on peak hot days. Households living near forests, forest owners and people working in forest areas need to regularly check, clear vegetation, collect flammable materials, and create firebreaks according to the instructions of functional agencies.
When detecting forest fires or signs of fire risk, people need to quickly notify local authorities, forest rangers, commune police or call 114 for timely support; and proactively coordinate with functional forces in zoning and preventing fire spread but must ensure personal safety.
Forest fire prevention is the common responsibility of each agency, organization, household and people. Everyone needs to raise awareness, be cautious in using fire, actively participate in protecting forests, contributing to preserving the ecological environment and minimizing damage caused by forest fires in the hot season.
