Re-inspection of the entire 36-story apartment building
According to the Department of Construction, when cracks and breaks at Lapen Center apartment building appeared in 2025, the related parties hired a unit to conduct inspections for the building. Although the inspection results recorded that the structure of the building still ensured load-bearing capacity, many new cracks continued to appear on the 16th floor and other floors afterwards.
Therefore, to ensure the safety of the project and residents, the Department of Construction has requested the investor and the Apartment Building Management Board to coordinate in organizing the inspection of the entire project and propose a plan to thoroughly handle the damage (both old and newly arising). While the inspection and repair have not been completed, it is requested that the investor hire a capable unit to regularly inspect and monitor the project's subsidence and tilt to promptly detect dangerous signs and have response measures.
After completing the inspection, it is necessary to re-design the technical plan to overcome damage at Lapen Center apartment building for existing damages and newly arising damages to handle thoroughly.
Representatives of the Apartment Building Management Board said that the unit is coordinating with the investor to implement the directions of the Department of Construction, in order to quickly overcome incidents at the building as soon as possible.
