On August 2, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province requested the Department of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Da Lat city to inspect and direct the construction of the Cam Ly hydroelectric project that caused road landslides.
Inspection and handling reports on the above landslide must be sent to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee before August 5.
Previously, on July 29, the People's Committee of Da Lat city also issued a document requesting to temporarily suspend construction activities of the Cam Ly hydroelectric project in Ta Nung commune (Da Lat city) to ensure safety for people.
The initial cause came from Viet Hung Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1 constructing the Cam Ly hydroelectric project, which carried out excavation and earthworks in the project area, leading to large-scale landslides.
According to the results of the actual field inspection of the People's Committee of Da Lat City, Viet Hung Construction Joint Stock Company No. Ta Nung.
The landslide location is above the pipeline with a height of over 12m and a width of 20m. This includes a road about 4m wide, 30m long and part of the land area Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu is cultivating.
Prolonged cracks and severe soil and rock subsidence have caused property damage and directly threatened people's safety. If it continues to rain for a long time, this location is likely to continue to erode.
Currently, the authorities have asked the contractor to temporarily stop all construction activities and take urgent measures to overcome the landslide.
