On August 27, the People's Council (People's Council) of Kien Giang province held its 25th session (thematic session) to review staff work and a number of contents under the jurisdiction of the Provincial People's Council.
The meeting approved the Draft Resolution extending the implementation time and disbursement of the public investment plan with local budget capital from 2023 to 2024.
Extend the implementation time and disbursement of the public investment plan from the local budget in 2023 to 2024 for 77 projects, with an amount of more than 87 billion VND. In which, the local budget balance capital is more than 36 billion VND/32 projects; Lottery source of more than 50 billion VND/43 projects; Land use source is more than 690 million VND/2 projects. The disbursement period for the capital plan is extended until December 31, 2024.
Some projects such as: Investing in water supply pipeline networks to households behind the main pipeline in water storage projects and domestic water supply systems in water scarce areas and areas affected by saltwater intrusion such as An Bien, An Minh, Kien Luong, Go Quao, Vinh Thuan, Kien Hai districts.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, based on the results of implementing the public investment plan in 2023, for the remaining undisbursed capital to meet the cases allowed to be extended according to Government regulations, the Provincial People's Committee has submitted it to the Provincial People's Council for approval. Allows extending the implementation and disbursement time of the 2023 public investment plan from the local budget to 2024.
Based on the requests of the units, the Provincial People's Committee submitted to the Provincial People's Council to extend the implementation time and disbursement of the public investment plan with local budget capital in 2023 to 2024, with the contents as mentioned above.
Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Council Mai Van Huynh said: Based on current legal regulations and the actual situation of the locality, the Provincial People's Council reviewed and unanimously voted to approve the draft Resolutions.
