On August 28, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province said it had implemented temporary measures to overcome the landslide incident on Ta Nung Pass, Da Lat City.
This is to ensure vehicle circulation, especially during the upcoming September 2 holiday.
After the landslide occurred, authorities implemented measures to ensure traffic safety in the landslide area. Install landslide warning signs at both ends, install flashing lights, string fences on 1/2 of the road and arrange personnel to regulate traffic.
In addition, the authorities created an embankment made of soil bags and an arc-shaped concrete berm surrounding the road surface to limit water flowing into the landslide location, causing further landslides.
At the landslide location, the authorities relocated the clean water supply pipe system, placed drainage pipes under the ditch on the positive side of the slope and filled in soil to make a temporary road to temporarily expand the road surface.
The Department of Transport of Lam Dong province is also coordinating with a specific survey consulting unit to come up with a long-term solution.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, around 9:30 a.m. on August 23, at Km 2+900 Provincial Road DT 725 on Ta Nung Pass, a negative slope landslide occurred.
At the landslide site, there was a hole about 6m deep into the road, in the shape of a frog with dozens of blocks of rock and soil that had been washed away. The surrounding road was cracked and affected about 20m.
