On September 27, Mr. Dang Van Duong - Chairman of Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri) said that the locality had organized a meeting with relevant parties to clarify the case of dozens of students suspected of being poisoned after breakfast at school.
According to initial information, the type of banh tay that students eat with a food contract is provided by a woman outside the commune. The police are investigating the origin, while the health sector has taken food samples for inspection.
Of the total 75 students who ate a banh tay breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities on the morning of September 26, 40 students had to be hospitalized, the remaining 35 students were monitored for their health in the locality.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated and clarified.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 8:00 a.m. on September 26, after breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, many students had symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
Immediately afterwards, the school coordinated with the authorities and parents to mobilize a vehicle to transport 40 students to Le Thuy General Hospital for examination and treatment.
