Nam Dinh peach village is busy collecting trees and reviving peach trees after Tet

Nam Dinh - These days, gardeners in Nam Dinh's largest peach village are collecting peach trees, planting trees, and caring for them to "revive" the trees for next year's Tet crop.

Unlike every year, this year, peach garden owners in Nam My commune (now Nam Dien commune, Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) planted peach trees later to prepare for the next year's Tet crop.

After nearly 15 years of working in the profession of growing ornamental peach trees, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dung (Nam Dien commune, Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) said that every year, gardeners collect and plant the peach trees from the 15th day of the first lunar month. This year, the weather is colder, so the peach blossoms bloom late, and there are still flowers in Mr. Dung's garden, so the peach trees are rented out and returned by customers later. Regrouping this year's peach trees, Mr. Dung plans to plant all the trees around January to take care of them in time.

"I have collected 100 peach trees for customers to rent for Tet from all over the provinces and cities such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh... During that process, I will check the quality of the trees so that when transporting them on the long route, I can keep the trees healthy and return to my home garden.

After coming to the garden, the peach trees will be carefully planted, pruning, shaped, and fertilized. During the Tet holiday, the peach trees are less cared for, so replanting needs to be more careful," said Mr. Dung.

Also taking advantage of growing the peach trees that have just been returned by customers, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh (Nam Dien commune, Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) shared: "To make the peach trees bloom on time for Tet, the care step is very important, we must ensure the correct process and techniques from the very beginning, helping the trees grow, develop and function well. In addition, pruning and shaping also need to be done carefully, because a peach tree with a beautiful position is bent from the beginning, bringing higher economic value".

Currently, Nam Dien commune has nearly 100 hectares, with more than 1,500 peach growing households. According to peach growers, taking care of the trees takes a lot of time and effort, so they only choose healthy peach trees that can recover quickly after replanting. With the current humid rain in Nam Dinh, it is very favorable for peach trees to grow and develop roots better.
