Recently, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has just issued a directive to unify the term of election of Village Chief, Head of Residential Group and Party cell congress for the term 2025 - 2027.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of districts and cities are required to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society on the work of building villages and residential groups, associated with the implementation of socio-economic goals and national target programs. Ensure that by 2025, over 90% of Party cell secretaries are also village heads and residential group heads according to the target of the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested localities to agree on the time to organize the election of Village Chiefs and Heads of Residential Groups along with the term of the Party cell congress for the 2025-2027 term.
From now until the end of 2024, in villages and residential groups where the term of office of the Village Chief or Residential Group Chief has been 2.5 years or less than 2.5 years according to regulations, the term of office will be extended or shortened to organize the election of the Village Chief or Residential Group Chief.
In addition, direct the People's Committees at the commune level to guide villages and residential groups to develop a plan to introduce party members with good political and moral qualities, capacity, sense of responsibility, and trust from the people to run for election as Village Chief and Head of Residential Group. On that basis, introduce party members who are Village Chiefs and Head of Residential Groups to be elected as Party Cell Secretary for the 2025-2027 term according to Party regulations.
