On the morning of September 16, leaders of Tay Ho ward visited and encouraged the families of the victims in the 4-story house fire at No. 2B, lane 264/2 Thuy Khue.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khuyen - City Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Ward People's Council and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee visited and encouraged the families of the victims.
Previously, at 2:06 am on September 16, the Command Information Center of Hanoi City Police received a report of a fire at house number 2B, lane 264/2 Thuy Khue.
Immediately after receiving the news, local government leaders, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center and Tay Ho Ward Police urgently mobilized forces and vehicles to deploy fire fighting, rescue, and relief work.
Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khuyen - City Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Tay Ho Ward People's Council; Major General Nguyen Hong Ky - Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, along with leaders of the Ward People's Committee and Ward Police commanders, were directly present at the scene to inspect, direct firefighting, rescue, and relief work, visit families of victims and direct urgently overcome the consequences, investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
According to initial information from people at the scene, at about 1:50 am on September 16, after discovering the fire, people raised the alarm and used on-site vehicles to initially extinguish the fire, but could not control the fire.
The area where the fire occurred is a 4-story house, with an area of about 60m2/story.
At the time of approaching the scene, functional forces determined that 4 people had escaped and there were still people trapped inside the fire.
By about 2:30 am, the fire was basically under control, and functional forces prevented the fire from spreading to the surrounding area. By 2:45 am, the fire was completely extinguished.
During the search, rescue, and salvage process, the Fire and Rescue Police force discovered 5 victims who had died and handed them over to the medical force.
Currently, the Director of the City Police is directing functional forces to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the fire to resolve it according to legal regulations.
