Make flowers all year round, no need to worry about unemployment
The flower growing profession in Cho Lach not only brings income but also ensures stable jobs for many local workers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, a hired worker at the chrysanthemum garden, said that he has been in this job for nearly ten years, with a stable income of 6 - 8 million VND/month.
According to Mr. Hung, daily work is mainly watering, weeding, fertilizing, and when needed, helping the garden owner with flower pots. Working regularly all year round, near Tet, it is more vibrant because the demand for care increases.
The work is not hard, just diligence is needed to have a stable income. Seeing that working for hire in a flower garden is more free than many other jobs, and there is no need to worry about unemployment.
"During the Tet season, we work longer hours, increase our income by about 20 - 30% compared to normal days, enough to take care of our family and have a small surplus," Mr. Hung added.

After many years of making a living in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Le Thi Mai has returned to her hometown of Cho Lach and has been working for hire in flower gardens for more than 5 years.
Ms. Mai said that they are seasonal workers but in reality they work all year round. The owner of the yellow apricot garden assigns work in stages: when pruning branches, when fertilizing, and near Tet, focusing on taking care of and shaping the plants.
Many garden owners have expanded to grow other bougainvillea and ornamental plants, so workers like her almost always have work. The work is not too hard, get used to it and feel very comfortable.
"On average, I earn 200 - 400,000 VND per day, enough to cover my family's living expenses and raise a child in grade 9, the rest have just entered their first year of university," Ms. Mai added.
Cho Lach flower area, workers always have work
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Huu Nghi - Vice Chairman of Cho Lach Commune People's Committee said that after the merger, the commune is a key area for the production of Tet flowers, supplying about 5 million products to the market.
In particular, the local raspberry chrysanthemum product has been certified with a 3-star OCOP, affirming the quality and brand of the flower area.
According to Mr. Nghi, the profession of growing flowers and ornamental plants in Cho Lach has a long tradition, bringing stable jobs and regular income to local people all year round.
Currently, gardeners are focusing on taking care of chrysanthemums, while the marigolds will be planted about two months before Tet to ensure supply.

The advantage is that people work year-round, not just during Tet. Local workers always have stable jobs with many jobs such as planting, caring, watering, pruning branches, fertilizing, shaping and harvesting.
There are currently 18,854 people in employment, accounting for about 90% of working-age workers.
"During the Lunar New Year, Cho Lach is bustling with both production and consumption. Traders from all over come to buy, helping people increase their income and work enthusiastically for the next flower crop," Mr. Nghi added.
